The golden years of life.
There is a saying that old is gold and how true it is in its     meaning and substance. Old age is a period of ripening and fruitation in the lifespan. This is the most valuable time in human life  as it is when we are equipped with vast experience, knowledge and wisdom that enables  us to lead a graceful life. It is true that ageing is natural phenomena and it cannot be reversed altogether. However it can be slowed down with exercise of mind control and will power. This has immense healing potentiality to keep oneself fit and fine by prolonging and promoting longevity. The scientific world has also now accepted that belief can bring changes in the biology  of the body. Every thought in the mind precipitates a  molecule in the nervous system which influences the other molecules throughout the body as a cascading effect. The strong intention to stay fit and healthy at a particular age has an inherent potentiality of setting the biological age as choosen. We have innumerable examples well known of celebrities like Sitara Devi who performed stage show successfully  even at the age of 90 years. Many more people like Ustad Bismillah Khan,Ustad Alauddin Khan , MF Husain, Khushwant Singh ,APJ Kalam and many more people who  played their role successfully till the last day of their life. Amongst the Patriots and national leaders Mahatma Gandhi ,Bal Gangadhar Tilak ,C Rajagopalachari ,Madan Mohan Malviya remained active till their end with valuable contribution to the cause of freedom movement Shrimati Vijayanti Mala and Shrimati Hema Malini are able to perform stage show even at the age of 84 and 72 years. No senility features developed in Einstein, Buddha , Galileo Archimedes, John D Rockefeller, Queen Elizabeth,Queen Victoria ,Marshal Tito Immanuel Kant and others. How do we account for their outstanding achievement overriding the ageing consideration. It is difficult to put them in conventional frame of old age perception. Undoubtedly their life and activities provide hope, inspiration and strength to the aging population that one can lead a purposeful life irrespective of ageing factor. The two important factors that conferred extraordinary function of brain were due to a good gene  and the provision of an optimal in internal environment.                             There is of course  no way to change the gene at the moment but since the gene requires a suitable environment for expression we can provide an optimal environment to enjoy the Golden period of our time. Be happy because you have this precious and beautiful life. Live life fully and appreciate every small moment you have every day. Meditation is the best to be psychologically fit.Being human we all make mistakes, hence, do not dwell on the mistakes,and just move on and find a new adventure.

  2. I'm 97 yearss old from Japan and I complletely agree with you. I don't feel old till now. Positive environment and positive thoughts can keep you young for a long time. Haappiness and laughter are the keys to young life.

      Yes,laughter and happiness are keys for youthfulness. Laughter, one of the finest anti-stress measures ideally suited for mordern stressful life. Scientific studies have shown that laughter can boost immune system, raise pain threshold and alleviate depression have already been established by research in the field of psycho neuro immunology.
